June Newsletter - Summer is Here!

Posted by Cheryl Bage on

Hi friends!

Summer is in full swing and it's gearing up to be a busy one!

After a 5 year hiatus, I'm returning to Dorchester, Ontario July 9th and 10th for the annual
Art in the Barn show. It is two days of maker filled heaven with over 300 vendors! You can find all the info on their website here. They also have an Instagram and Facebook account where they have been sharing vendor profiles. It's definitely worth giving a look see.
I will be bringing all the usual stuff plus some new non knitting bags and pouches. If you're planning to attend and know you want something specific, shoot me an email and I'll make sure I have if for you.

Here is a sneak peek at the fanny packs I'm bringing to Art in the Barn!
I'll be listing some on the website after the show.

Summer, in our house, means it's camping and fishing time! Our first trip is planned for the last week of June. The shop will still be open and orders will be processed and shipped as quickly as possible after July 1st.

As many of you probably already know, the Kitchener-Waterloo Knitter's Fair is on for this Sept!! I'm so excited! I am registered to vend and can't wait to see everyone!
You can see all the info for the shows I'm vending at this year on my coming events page.

Have you checked out my new Japanese minimalist print linens yet? They are gorgeous! I've added them in a few more styles since the last news letter.

I wanted to mention to my Canadian customers that Etsy is making some changes with how they handle tax. The CRA is now requiring Etsy to collect and remit PST. This isn't a problem but they are leaving sellers who collect their own tax in a bit of bind as they are removing the tool that lets us select the different percentages for each province and then asking us to add the GST/HST tax into the price of the item. This is incorrect and illegal. I am urging anyone who shops on etsy (from Canada) to pay close attention to the tax you are charged. Also, if you know the small business has a private website, I urge you to support them there instead :)

Well, I think that's all for now. I hope you all have a great summer!
Until next time,
Cheryl
